The assisted hamstring stretch improves flexibility in the backside of your leg.
Instructions
Lie on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Loop an elastic band or towel around the ball of one foot.
Raise your leg by pulling the towel or band toward you while keeping the knee straight. Pull it until you feel a stretch in the hamstring and hold for up to 30 seconds.
Trainer’s Tips
Make sure to keep tension on the band throughout the stretch.
Be careful not to use too much force. Do not overstretch the muscle.
Avoid stretching cold. Always perform stretches after a warm up.
