Towel-Grip Inverted Row

The towel-grip inverted row is an advanced body weight movement that improves strength in the back, biceps, and forearms. The use of towels during the exercise helps to build grip strength.

Instructions

  1. 6131_A
    Loop two towels, shoulder-width apart, around a barbell in a squat rack. Lie on the floor underneath the bar and grab the ends of the towels so that your palms are facing each other.
  2. Towel-Grip Inverted Row
    Squeeze your shoulder blades together while driving the elbows behind you and pull your chest toward bar. Pause, then slowly lower your body back to starting position.

Trainer’s Tips

  • Don't let your hips sag. Maintain a straight line from your head to your heels.
  • Don't use a partial range of motion. Pull your chest all the way to the bar.
  • Don't let your shoulders move forward. Squeeze your shoulder blades together.
