Single-Leg Lowering Drill

The single-leg lowering drill is a beginner abdominal strength and hip control exercise. The movement also improves core stability.

Instructions

    Lie on the floor on your back with your legs straight up in the air, arms out to the side. Brace your core and keep your head and shoulders on the floor.
  2. Single-Leg Lowering Drill
    Keeping the neutral arch in your lower back and your legs straight, lower one leg toward the floor. Keep your opposite leg in the air. Pause and return your leg to the starting position.

Trainer’s Tips

  • Maintain the natural curve in your lower back as you lower your leg.
  • Make sure you keep your head and shoulders on the floor throughout the movement.
  • Don't allow your leg to touch the floor when you lower it.
