A semicolon enthusiast and lover of vampire bats, Tess writes nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame and an M.F.A. in creative writing from New York University. Her writing awards include the American Voice Award for best short story, the Ernest Sandeen Award for most outstanding poetry collection, and a Sigma Tau Delta scholarship for best essay. If she's not lost in a forest, she's probably watching a video of reptile eggs hatching, or trying to pronounce the French word fourrure.
