When asked about the prospect of losing in the Octagon, Rousey, who became the first American woman to medal in Judo when she bagged a bronze at the Beijing Olympics, cut straight to the chase. “I would rather die than lose. I know that feeling so well. It’s not that I have never lost, it’s that I have lost at the worst time, so I know what that feeling is,” explained the MMA superstar.
“That’s why I want to win so much more than these girls. My mom was the world champion in Judo, and she was the first American to ever do it. I had my shot to like be like my mom and be the world champion in Judo, and I lost. It feels like dying to me. I’d rather die.” Check out the video:
